Photos tell a visual story. Through our on-going photo-monitoring in the watershed, we are able to capture evidence of river and riparian functions, pre- and post-restoration improvements to aquatic habitat, and subtle changes occurring in the river corridor. In addition, photos help in daily river management activities. When we review plansets for proposed bridge replacements and rehabs, we are able to tap into our bridge photo inventory on our desk tops to evaluate potential impacts and make recommendations – everything from construction access, to Best Management Practices for erosion prevention, invasive species management and native plants to use in bank restoration activities.
