Community Conservation & Stewardship Grants. Grants are available to each of the ten Wild & Scenic communities as well as conservation partners in the watershed to support pro-active river conservation and stewardship. Interested parties should review the grant guidelines and discuss the project idea with the Committee before completing the grant application form. Grants are accepted on a rolling basis.
Section 7 review. The National Park Service reviews and provides technical assistance to projects along the river under “Section 7” of the National Wild & Scenic Rivers Act to be sure they do not harm the values for which a river was designated. We encourage project proponents to contact us early in their project planning for assistance and support in developing their project.
Technical Assistance: The Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee has many skilled volunteers in addition to the resources and staff provided by the National Park Service. We often provide technical assistance and support to individuals, towns, and organizations for river-related questions and projects. There is a brief form to complete and submit to request assistance to help us understand what is needed and how best to provide meaningful input.
